Taking a trip to Winter Carnival is simple. JUST GO! Once there, getting around and winging-it when going on a whim is easy. Québec's City sidewalks are an easy trek and take you everywhere you need to go.Continental Airlines offers a 1 1/2 hour direct nonstop flight to Québec City from Newark, New Jersey Airport. This flight is usually on time and comfortable. Once you arrive in Québec Airport (YQB) you'll go through a quick Immigration and Customs. (Don't forget your passport).
I knew it would be a great weekend when I entered the hotel transfer van and the radio was blasting "Let me take you to Funky Town!" which of course I couldn't help but sing along to at the drivers amusement. It was a scenic 20 minute drive to Hotel Hilton Québec.

Hotel Hilton Québec is a partner of Winter Carnival and is probably the best place to stay given it's close proximity to all the festivities. It is centrally located in Québec Parliament Hill, across the street and approximately 50 steps away from the Winter Carnival grounds. Hilton Québec is a large convention center hotel with warm inviting hospitality. The large lobby is a modern updated designed space which houses the Allegro Bar and Restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served.
Allegro's breakfast buffet is served until noon and includes everything from cereal and muffins to eggs, french toast and bacon. The food is relatively good, and the coffee is very good! Breakfast tickets are given to you upon check-in for the length of your stay when included in your room rate. But keep in mind there may be a bit of a long table wait during rush hours. So my advice is get there very early or late to avoid the crowds. The Allegro Bar provides a nice comfortable space to get a cocktail or beer at a reasonable price. The staff at Hotel Hilton Québec are more than amicable considering it is a large hotel. Of course they speak English and are willing to help with any question and guide you in the right direction.

The accommodations are great! Rooms are large and immaculately clean. Seriously one of the cleanest hotels I've seen. This is so very important to me and I was very pleasantly surprised. In the room you will find the basics; work station, flat screen TV, closet, drawers and a very cushy, comfy bed with a extra soft comforter and what seemed like a million pillows. You'll really melt in this huge luxe relaxing bed. The bathroom has a curved shower curtain rod which allows for more showering space, plenty of mirrors, a hair dryer, and toiletries by Crabtree & Evelyn.
